Buildings on the Bowery, one of New York City’s oldest streets, have been reinvented again and again throughout the centuries, often leaving traces of their former lives still visible. From the first period of the neighborhood’s Dutch settlers in 1626 to the Georgian and Federal buildings that functioned as townhomes and artisan workshops in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, to the bloom of concert saloons and dime museums, with artist lofts trailing close behind, The Bowery’s diverse catalog of design and function reflects New York City’s history. Echoes of this past are often unveiled if you look closely…

Police said Etienne had been traveling between 80 and 90 mph in a 50-mph zone in his 2024 Audi RS7 when he was pulled over on South Milledge Avenue at 1:50 a.m. Sunday. Thursday afternoon, we got another reminder that the Minnesota Vikings won the much-ballyhooed trade they made before the 2020 NFL Draft by a comfortable margin. That trade involved the Vikings sending wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for the 22nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Vikings turned around and used that pick on wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who has gone on to win an NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award and put up more receiving yardage than any player in league history in his first four seasons. Diggs, on the other hand,…

Coming out of San Clemente High School in Southern California as a four-star recruit, Darnold had an impressive two-year stint with the USC Trojans. In 2016, Darnold was the Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year, and he was named to the Freshman All-American Team. Ninth-ranked USC defeated fifth-ranked Penn State 52-49 before…

Setting clear and measurable goals is a key to achievement. Businesses do it all the time to make sure they are staying ahead of the curve. The Vikings, it would seem, are no different. While they haven’t literally screamed, “WE ARE DRAFTING A QUARTERBACK” from the top of a mountain, their actions have essentially done that. They let an expensive known commodity (Kirk Cousins) leave in free agency. They already added a first-round pick to their 2024 draft haul. And their head coach — himself a former quarterback — has been closely watching all the quarterback prospects. Being intentional is…

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) – Has Stefon Diggs gone from the Minneapolis Miracle to being a problem child? For the second time in five years, Diggs was traded Wednesday morning. The Buffalo Bills sent Diggs to the Houston Texans along with a sixth-round pick this year, and a fifth-round pick in 2025, in exchange for a 2025 second round pick. That selection just happens to be what the Minnesota Vikings sent the Texans as part of the package to get this year’s No. 23 overall pick. Diggs started 65 games over four seasons in Buffalo, making 445 catches for more than…

One of my pastimes is reminiscing which seems to be gathering steam as I count my birthdays. The time for reflection most often comes about at the start of baseball season.  It causes me to flash back to my days on the farm where there was no television—only scratchy static on an old Philco radio.   We couldn’t afford a daily newspaper but if we had, the baseball scores would arrive at least a day late, sometimes, two. I saved my pennies and couldn’t wait to buy a copy of SPORT Magazine and read the in-depth stories on players like…
