Buffalo’s Rasmus Dahlin netted a power-play goal 1:42 into overtime and the visiting Sabres beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 Thursday night to win for the fourth time in five games. After the Lightning’s Nikita Kucherov went off for hooking Tage Thompson early in the extra session, Dahlin finished a give-and-go with Casey Mittelstadt as Buffalo improved to 8-2-0 in road matches since Jan. 1. Alex Tuch and Thompson also scored and Buffalo goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 21 saves to record his 18th win. Buffalo played without defenseman Erik Johnson, who was dealing with the flu after skating for just…

The Philadelphia Flyers had one of the most bizarre games in their history early in their contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning. They played almost the entire first period and the first quarter of the second period with some lights out as there was a partial power outage in the stadium — the horn, PA system, and some other equipment were rendered useless for quite a while. After being sent down to the American Hockey League (AHL) late in January, Bobby Brink was playing some good hockey with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, scoring six goals and five assists for 11…

The Big Easy will host Super Bowl LIX next February, with the city tying the record for most Super Bowls hosted at 11. Per the report, the renovations will include some new bathrooms, walkways, and escalators, among many other amenities. The project was…

Death. Taxes. The New Orleans Saints in salary cap trouble. These are some of the simple realities in life, and this year is no different as the Saints still sit more than $42 million in the red as of this writing. Knowing that cap trouble was again coming, the Saints restructured cornerback Marshon Lattimore’s contract back in January. That reduced his 2024 cap hit by $11 million, to $14.6 million and made it easier to trade him by dropping his base salary to $1.2 million while converting $13.79 million of his base salary into an option bonus that does not…

Along with 80,879 other people inside Tulane Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 17, 1967, New Orleans Saints second-year tight end Kent Kramer, acquired seven months earlier along with quarterback Billy Kilmer from the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL expansion draft, couldn’t hear himself think. But, he did have eyes in the back of his head. As John Gilliam took the opening kickoff against the Los Angeles Rams and raced up the hashmarks en route to his storybook 94-yard touchdown return on the first official play in Saints history, Kramer, who died Feb. 21 at his home in McKinnney, Texas at…

Red Bull produced the most dominant season in Formula 1 history in 2023, winning 21 out of a possible 22 Grand Prix. Max Verstappen led the way with 19 victories and most of the grid would have expected to see small improvements to the RB19. Instead, Red Bull revealed a car that looked significantly different which at first glance seemed like a gamble. However, Verstappen’s exceptional pace on day one of testing suggests that actually, the decision to build a very different car rather than evolve their old one – which has inspired many of their rivals’ vehicles this year…

The change to the new rules is a tricky one, even for the established manufacturers who already have a decade of experience with F1 hybrids, but Gualtieri says it will be harder for those coming in with no knowledge of the previous generation: as well as creating power units for 2026, they also have to develop new infrastructure.  “It’s hard to say because, obviously, I’m not in their facility or in their shoes,” he said when asked by Motorsport.com about the challenge faced by newcomers. “But in the end, I think that for sure the level of complexity of this…

When you first observe the cars during winter testing, you gradually discover their secrets. In practice, it comes down to seeing and understanding how some solutions work on the cars and what the intended function is. This was the case with the vertical inlets on the RB20 after we discovered the true location of the radiator inlets during the first day of testing. It was assumed that the vertical inlet would perform a similar function to the by-pass induct on the Ferrari SF-24. In reality, it also has this function, but on a secondary level. The inlet also feeds the…
