Breaking news: Milan revolution’ – stars among 14 players who could leave…see more

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report, a comeback in the league would be needed in the last two round of Serie A, starting with the match at the Stadio Olimpico against Roma on Sunday evening. Not impossible, but certainly tough.

Beyond the prestige and the sporting aspect, not playing in Europe in 2025-26 would also be damaging on an economic level. Translated: without the money guaranteed by UEFA, we need to do things differently. How? By selling players, also to try to fix a team that failed on the field.

Milan have recorded a profit in their accounts in the last two years, but in between there was also the substantial capital gain from the sale of Sandro Tonali. Another major sale to balance the books cannot be ruled out.

The main suspect is Tijjani Reijnders, who – thanks to the best season of his career – has attracted the interest of several European big clubs. In particular Manchester City, who are already ready to present an initial offer between €50-60m.

Milan, also strengthened in their position by the renewal until 2030 that the Dutchman signed a few months ago, start from a higher valuation. At least €70m would be needed to sit down and discuss.

Without Europe, the prospect of staying in Milan could also change for other players. Theo Hernandez, whose contract expires in 2026, is an example. Real Madrid have been linked, while a renewal with Milan would only be possible for figures much lower than Theo’s initial requests.

Mike Maignan is in a similar situation. The goalkeeper verbally reached an agreement with the Rossoneri for around €5m net per year, but the goalkeeper’s fluctuating performances meant that the deal never got to the point of signing. Now, his future is still uncertain.

Just as the departure of other stars cannot be ruled out 100%, starting with Rafa Leao. The Portuguese has not been able to make that leap forward that would have consecrated him as the (technical) leader of the team.

At the moment he has no offers, only rumours of interest from Barcelona and Saudi Arabia, and not even the firm will to leave. If before Milan would never have considered offers under €110m, today the feeling is that the scenario has changed.

Walker, Joao Felix, Sottil, Florenzi and Abraham will empty their locker at Milanello at the end of the season. While for Tomori, Thiaw (strong interest from Bayern Munich), Emerson Royal, Loftus-Cheek and Chukwueze, possible offers will be evaluated.
