Bronny James didn’t get to play in the Los Angeles Lakers’ season-ending loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
That’s part of what informed his decision about what to do next in the NBA future.

Bronny plans to play in the Las Vegas Summer League for the second consecutive year.
It’s a logical move.
Bronny got a shortened college experience at USC due to his heart issues and return-to-play limitations.
Then in the 2024-25 season, Bronny swung back and forth between the G League and NBA. He got big minutes in the second-tier but rarely much in the top division.
He’s definitely got promise. He dropped 39 points in one G League game and had a number of other well-rounded outings in the minor league.
The Lakers might still have to wait a while until Bronny is a consistent NBA contributor.
To be fair to Bronny, he was the 55th overall pick. They often take a few years if they make it at all, not just the son of Deion Sanders.
The Vegas Summer League is the next step. It will be well-attended, especially whenever the Lakers play.
It’s just in the best basketball spot to give Bronny a spotlight and a chance to grow once again. Hopefully we keep everything need to be intact.
