This summer, AC Milan and Fenerbahce have competed for a few targets, but it seems they may win the bigger prize.
Archie Brown was the big battle so far this summer, with him heading to both Milan and Turkey at different points. However, he eventually headed to Fenerbahce, which the club used as an opportunity to poke fun at the Rossoneri.
It seems that with a bigger fish, though, the club may not have the same pull.
This morning, Calciomercato.com have reported that despite Fenerbahce’s involvement in the race for Federico Chiesa, he has rejected a move to Turkey. The league is ‘not warming him up’, so he will instead wait for other options.
In fact, the hope is that Milan will become interested in the winger, or Napoli, with him hoping for a return to the Italian top flight, more so given his Liverpool spell is not set to change. However, there must be a change in his demands.
With a wage of €7 million net per season, he cannot find a club in Italy that would be able to offer such numbers, or better yet, would want to. He has already been offered to the Diavolo, who he would be open to, thanks to a pre-existing relationship with Massimiliano Allegri.
