Fabrizio Romano: Personal terms not an issue as Arsenal target in advanced talks…see more

Arsenal are looking to complete some more transfer business before the window shuts on Monday as Mikel Arteta prepares for what could be a huge game in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners are in the market to further bolster their squad but do have a game against Liverpool at Anfield to prepare for as they make the journey to Merseyside on Sunday afternoon.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have won their opening two games. However, the Gunners have looked more convincing after securing wins over Manchester United and Leeds United. Meanwhile, the Reds have beaten Bournemouth and Newcastle United with late goals after twice throwing away a 2-0 lead.

Eberechi Eze has joined the North London outfit ahead of the game and is poised to make his debut although Arteta has injury concerns over Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard after they were both forced off against Leeds.

The Gunners are in talks with Piero Hincapié of Bayer Leverkusen over a potential move, with Fabrizio Romano claiming the player is now in advanced talks with the club after an initial approach.

Taking to his YouTube channel, Romano revealed Tottenham had an offer of a loan with an obligation to buy rejected as Arsenal now look to get a deal done. He said: “He’s in advanced talks with Arsenal about their project, their view, and potential personal terms.

“Personal terms will not be an issue, for Hincapié to go to Arsenal – he’s very keen on the project of Mikel Arteta, so attracted by this possibility. Now, for Hincapié to go to Arsenal, obviously, outgoings can be important.

“Kiwior, the situation of Zinchenko, let’s see what’s going to happen there.”

Kiwior has been the subject of interest from FC Porto as he looks to leave North London for more regular game-time. Hincapié has a £52m release clause in his contract at Leverkusen.

The Gunners arguably have the strongest centre-back pairing in world football with Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba two vital members of Arteta’s squad. They have also signed Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia.

With Kiwior looking to leave, having four centre-backs makes sense – especially with Arsenal looking to battle on several fronts once again this season. Gabriel and Saliba have both suffered big injuries in the past couple of seasons too, so strong back-up options could prove decisive in their quest to win another piece of silverware under Arteta.
