Fbs: Milan’s sales could exceed €200m amid Premier League interest in duo…see more

AC Milan could exceed €200m in sales this summer, according to a report, as Malick Thiaw and Yunus Musah are both being linked with a move to the Premier League.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below) Milan have certainly responded to the ‘sales criticism’ that has followed them for years. This summer, they have parted ways with the likes of Reijnders, Theo Hernandez, Kalulu, Emerson Royal, Pellegrino, Pobega, Sportiello and Colombo.

These sales have already brought in over €111m to the club’s coffers, not including bonuses and buy-out clauses, but that figure increases to €146m if you do include them. And it’s not over here, with two big sales potentially on the cards.

Newcastle pushing for Thiaw

The English side have been pushing for Thiaw in recent days, tabling an offer of around €30m that was rejected. It’s more than Como offered at the start of the summer but as a result of the pre-season performances, Milan now want more to part ways with the German.

Max Allegri has been very impressed and would be happy to keep him in the squad for this season, but a sale cannot be ruled out either. Thiaw is open to a move to the Premier League, especially given the salary of €4m per year, and Milan are willing to listen at the right figures.

A new offer is expected shortly from Newcastle, as the newspaper continues, and it has to be at least €35m as the fixed fee for Milan to listen. If Thiaw ends up staying, however, the Rossoneri will think about a contract renewal.

Nottingham keen on Musah

Just like Thiaw, Musah is a player with an uncertain future. Nottingham Forest have started to make their moves, even if no official offer has been tabled, but advanced talks have been held with Milan. In fact, an intermediary has been working on the matter a lot.

That being said, Allegri isn’t fully convinced that a sale is the right move for Milan, having been ‘pleasantly surprised’ by the American’s effort in training and in the pre-season games. This means that a hefty offer will be needed for the midfielder as well, for the Rossoneri to buckle.

The price tag is currently set at €30m and as the newspaper states, that is what Nottingham would have to offer. In short, if both Musah and Thiaw were to leave, then the total amount of the sales would exceed €200m.
