AC Milan will reportedly look to sign Ferran Torres next summer, with Barcelona likely to demand around €30-40 million to sell the Spanish attacker.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ferran Torres is the subject of interest from AC Milan. The Serie A giants want to bolster their offensive department in the 2025 summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Barcelona will likely demand around €30-40 million to part ways with the Spanish international next year.
Ferran Torres has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Barcelona from Manchester City in January 2022. The move came out of nowhere, considering Pep Guardiola viewed the Spaniard as a regular who would have been a long-term solution in the final third for the Premier League club.
The 24-year-old was hot off the blocks in his early days with Barcelona and performed admirably in the second half of the 2021/22 season. However, Torres has been in and out of the starting lineup in the last two seasons, becoming a backup player for the Blaugrana since Lamine Yamal’s graduation to the first-team squad.
Nevertheless, the Spanish attacker has turned out 117 times thus far for Barcelona while chipping in with 26 goals and 14 assists. However, Torres faces an uncertain future at the Catalan club due to the never-ending financial issues that compel them to cash in on high-value assets. Meanwhile, the situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, including AC Milan.
AC Milan’s interest in Ferran Torres is understandable. The Serie A giants are in a spot of bother over the long-term future of Rafael Leao, who has been a hot property in the market in the last few years. In addition, the summer transfer window witnessed exit links for Samuel Chukwueze, although he remained at San Siro.
So, Torres has emerged as a viable target for AC Milan, particularly to replace Leao, who has also been in hot water with the Rossoneri in the last few days. The 24-year-old Spaniard will not cost a bomb, with Barcelona valuing him at around €30-40 million.
AC Milan could easily afford a deal worth €30-40 million to secure Ferran Torres’s services if Leao departs from San Siro in the 2025 summer transfer window. However, the Spanish attacker has remained committed to Barcelona despite his exit links. So, convincing him to leave might be a tall order.
