The NBA has just witnessed one of the craziest trades as the LA Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks swap Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis among others.
The LA Lakers and last season’s NBA finalists Dallas Mavericks announced a major trade between the two sides and the Utah Jazz. The Mavs have agreed to trade Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round selection, with the Jazz serving as a third party to arrange the transaction. Roma defender Mats Hummels has now reacted to the move.
On X [formerly Twitter], Hummels reacted to the NBA trade: “Thank god you can‘t get traded like this as a football/soccer player.”
The move has shocked fans all around the world as well as Davis’ teammate, NBA legend and Liverpool minority owner LeBron James. Reports in the NBA circuit had suggested that the four-time NBA champion was ‘frustrated’ with Davis at the Lakers, which may have triggered the move. However, James was quick to refute the reports.
Doncic could potentially make his LA Lakers debut on February 6 against the Golden State Warriors while Davis could appear on February 5 for the Dallas Mavericks against the Philadelphia 76ers.
