A football consultant involved with Kyle Walker’s loan move to AC Milan is reportedly at the centre of a drugs raid.
According to The Sun, Walker’s consultant, Michael Rankine, had his home raided by police this week after officers allegedly found more than 90 cannabis plants with a potential street value of £75,000. The report claims the force also found equipment used to produce the Class B drug.
This comes shortly after Rankine, 40, joined former Manchester City captain Walker on his private jet as he completed a loan move to Milan. The ex-Bournemouth forward was even photographed with the England international as he was unveiled to the Italian giants’ fans. Sun sources say this drugs raid revelation was a ‘huge shock’ to everyone.
The report adds Rankine is employed as a football consultant for London firm CAA Base. It represents Premier League footballers such as Tottenham’s Son Heung-min and James Maddison.
South Yorkshire police confirmed in a statement that officers executed a warrant at a property in Doncaster. A police statement reads: “Following officers entering the property, we discovered a cannabis set-up.”
