Chelsea asked to be kept informed on Rafael Leao’s situation at AC Milan during talks over a deal which saw Joao Felix join the Italian club.
Sources have informed TBR Football that the West London club are still looking to add to their attacking options in the summer despite already having several wide players.
Chelsea will have to sign Jadon Sancho for around £25 million from Manchester United and also have the Brazilian sensation Estevao Willian set to join Enzo Maresca’s squad.
The Blues are now looking for further reinforcements for the wide areas and are targeting Leao as a player who could improve their squad.

The Premier League side are also one of the clubs with an interest in Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, but TBR Football can confirm that the Portuguese international is someone they also hold in high regard.
Chelsea have had regular contact with Milan in recent weeks following Felix’s move to the San Siro and during those conversations, the West London giants asked about Leao’s situation.
Milan insist that Leao remains a firm part of their plans and have pointed to his contract which runs until 2028 as a reason why they won’t sell him.
Although, with Barcelona also a long-term admirer of Leao, a summer move can’t be discounted, and if he were to move then Chelsea would firmly be in the mix for the 25-year-old.
Leao is having a relatively quiet season for Milan this term having netted just nine times in 33 appearances in all competitions.
Back in November of 2024, Portugese national team manager Robert Martinez labelled Leao as ‘one of the best players in the world’, telling the media: “Today he showed what he is, one of the best players in the world in exploiting spaces and in one-on-one duels.”
The Italian giants are currently seventh in Serie A after 24 matches and are five points off the top four in the race for Champions League football.
