AC Milan vs Venezia Predictions for this Serie A fixture. Still searching for their first win of the new Serie A season, AC Milan will be under pressure to secure three points on Saturday as they host Venezia at San Siro. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Can Milan Finally Secure Their First Win Despite Defensive Woes?

Milan’s Attacking Threat: Milan have averaged 17.7 shots per game this season, with 5 of those being on target, showing that they are consistently creating opportunities. With Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic leading the charge, Milan’s attack has the firepower to exploit Venezia’s porous defence.

Defensive Concerns for Both Sides: Milan have yet to keep a clean sheet in Serie A this season, conceding an average of two goals per game. This defensive frailty will give Venezia hope, especially as they look to break their current goal drought. Venezia, however, have also struggled defensively, conceding four goals in their opening three matches.

Venezia’s Struggles in Front of Goal: Despite averaging 10.7 shots per game, Venezia have only managed to score once this season. Joel Pohjanpalo, who was prolific in Serie B last term, is yet to find the back of the net in Serie A, but with Milan’s leaky defence, this could be his best chance yet to open his account.

AC Milan will host newly promoted Venezia at the San Siro on Saturday evening, in a match that has quickly become crucial for the home side. Despite high expectations ahead of the new Serie A campaign, Milan are still searching for their first victory after three matches, placing their new manager, Paulo Fonseca, under increasing pressure.

With just two points on the board, Milan need a win to steady the ship, especially with a tough Champions League fixture against Liverpool looming. Meanwhile, Venezia have had their own struggles, securing only one point and scoring a single goal across their opening three games. As they aim to avoid slipping further into a relegation battle, a resilient performance at one of Italy’s most iconic venues would provide a significant boost.

However, both sides come into this fixture with contrasting ambitions and form, making for an intriguing encounter. Milan’s attacking prowess, led by the likes of Rafael Leao and Tammy Abraham, will go up against a Venezia side still trying to adjust to the demands of Serie A football. With both teams under pressure, Saturday’s clash could define their short-term trajectories in the league.

Given Milan’s ongoing defensive vulnerabilities and Venezia’s need to get off the mark in front of goal, the best bet for this match is Milan to win and both teams to score. There are several key factors that support this prediction.

Milan’s defensive struggles have been evident since the season began. They have conceded six goals in three matches, at an average of two per game, and have not kept a clean sheet. In fact, dating back to the final stages of last season, they have let in at least two goals in each of their last five Serie A outings, further highlighting their defensive fragility.

This should provide some encouragement for Venezia, particularly with their main striker, Joel Pohjanpalo, fit and seeking his first goal of the campaign. Pohjanpalo was a major threat in Serie B last season, scoring 22 goals, and although Venezia have been blunt in attack thus far, Milan’s defensive weaknesses could be just what they need to break their goal drought.

On the other hand, Milan have been much stronger going forward, scoring five times in their first three matches. The return of Rafael Leao, who is likely to reclaim his starting spot, will be a significant boost for the Rossoneri.

Leao has proven to be a decisive player for Milan, contributing both goals and assists, and his pace and creativity, combined with Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham, should cause Venezia’s defence plenty of problems. Venezia have conceded four goals so far and are yet to demonstrate the defensive solidity required to contain Milan’s attack for 90 minutes.

With this in mind, it’s reasonable to expect Milan to come out on top, but with their defensive frailties making it likely that Venezia will find the back of the net as well. As BettingTips4You.com expert Luca Pratesi states: “Milan’s firepower up front is unquestionable, but their leaky defence means they’re always vulnerable to conceding, particularly against a side like Venezia, who will be desperate for a goal.”

Building on the expectation that Milan will win but both teams will score, the correct score prediction for this match is Milan 3-1 Venezia. Milan’s attack has shown they can create plenty of opportunities, averaging 17.7 shots per game, with 5 of those being on target. They’ve already scored five goals this season, with Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham both contributing to the tally. Against a Venezia defence that has conceded an average of 1.3 goals per game, Milan should have no problem finding the net multiple times.

However, as mentioned previously, Milan’s defensive vulnerabilities cannot be ignored. With no clean sheets so far and an average of two goals conceded per game, the chances of Venezia nicking at least one goal are high. While Venezia’s attack has struggled to score, Pohjanpalo’s return, alongside the creative influence of Gaetano Oristanio, could be enough to see them get on the scoresheet.

Milan’s superior quality, especially at home, means they are likely to score multiple goals, but a defensive lapse or a well-taken chance from Venezia could see the visitors register a consolation. A 3-1 result seems a balanced prediction given these factors.
