Juventus have successfully completed the signing of Pierre Kalulu from AC Milan after a week of negotiations. The French defensive utility player has agreed to join the Bianconeri, with his arrival in Turin expected today (Tuesday). Medical examinations and contract signing are scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday).
Calciomercato report that Milan had already reached a full agreement with Juventus’ sporting director Giuntoli some time ago. Kalulu’s absence from Paulo Fonseca’s squad list for both the Trofeo Berlusconi against Monza and the Serie A opener against Torino were clear indications that he was not part of the Portuguese coach’s plans.
The transfer will be structured as a loan with an option to buy. Juventus will pay an initial loan fee of €3.5 million, with the option to make the move permanent set at €14 million plus €3 million in bonuses. Additionally, Milan will retain a future sell-on clause of around 10%.
It’s worth noting that Atalanta was never seriously in contention for Kalulu’s signature. The player’s hesitation was not about joining Juventus, but rather about the structure of the transfer. However, those concerns have now been resolved, paving the way for Kalulu to don the black and white jersey.
