Manchester United went into the international break on a high amid a start to the season full of dud notes.
The Reds were heading towards a third straight defeat until super sub Scott McTominay netted an injury-time double to see the hosts to a 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday. There are still a number of questions to be answered, though.
One of those surrounds Jadon Sancho. The winger is still exiled from the first-team for not apologising for his public rebuttal of Erik ten Hag and an exit seems inevitable with every day the stand-off continues.
Meanwhile, the takeover saga rumbles on. It won’t be long before the process enters its 11th month and fans are irate over the lack of clarity from the Glazers. David Beckham is one of those in that camp.
Over the weekend, he called for the owners to make a decision to filter the noise surrounding Old Trafford. Now, reports say the football icon could be brought in as a club ambassador should Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani win the takeover race.
Rooney latest
Wayne Rooney has agreed terms to take over as manager of Birmingham City, according to the Times.
The Championship side sacked John Eustace on Monday, despite being sixth in the league and winning their last two matches.
Rooney left D.C. United last week and has been heavily tipped for the job, which looks set to be confirmed in the coming days.
United ‘eyeing’ Atalanta defender
United could look to do more business with Atalanta, having already signed Rasmus Hojlund and Amad from the Italian club.
Tuttomercatoweb claims defender Giorgio Scalvini is of interest to United, with Napoli also keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old.
It is suggested that Atalanta value the youngster at €50 million.
United linked with Adrien Rabiot again
United are reportedly ready to make a fresh move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
Calciomercato claims they are one of the clubs keeping tabs on his current situation and could pick him up for free once his new deal expires next summer.
United ‘looking to sign’ two Brazilian teenagers
United are reportedly looking to sign two talented South American teenagers next year.
The Mirror claims United scouts have an eye on Palmeiras midfielder Luis Guilherme and Flamengo winger Lorran.
They won’t come cheap, though. It is suggested that Guilherme’s contract contains a £52 million release clause, while Lorran’s contractual valuation stands at £43m.
