Milan’s stance unchanged but Conceicao could resign…see more

AC Milan’s recent upturn in results with the new formation has seen the idea of Sergio Conceicao staying at the club gain momentum.

As Corriere della Sera (via MilanPress) recall this morning, Conceicao had an intense conversation with Zlatan Ibrahimovic on pitch at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo after the 2-0 win over Venezia, and then he addressed the media.

“What happens to me, Allegri or others does not concern me. In a month I will tell you what I want. It is possible that I also have other thoughts, like going on holiday to the Algarve for ten years,” said the former Porto man in his press conference.

The paper reports that that the club is oriented to change regardless of the result in the Coppa Italia final against Bologna in the middle of May. However, it cannot be ruled out that the proud Portuguese coach will take a step back too.

Who knows, maybe he will do so after another trophy. From Riyadh to Rome, there could be a rather interesting parable involving the coach, who might win two cups in just a few months and yet separate from Milan because it is seen as the best thing for all involved.

Yesterday was significant for Conceicao, who achieved a third victory in the last four games with the new formation. The European spots in the league are still far away, but the key thing is to build confidence and solidity in view of that game in the capital in just over two weeks.
