Calciomercato report that this ambitious approach is set to continue into the summer, with super-agent Jorge Mendes playing a pivotal role.
Rafael Leão remains central to Milan’s project, recognized as the squad’s strongest player. However, his father’s mandate for Mendes to explore alternative options has expired. Despite this, Mendes will likely remain a key intermediary for the Leão family.
An offer from Al Nassr, backed by the Saudi PIF fund, valued between €70-85 million, fell short of Milan’s €175 million release clause. Leão is now challenged to step out of his comfort zone and become more decisive under new coach Sérgio Conceição’s guidance.
Mendes still aims to bring Leão to Barcelona, potentially intertwining his future with that of João Félix. The two Portuguese stars, friends off the field but different on it, could coexist at Milan. This scenario, however, requires tactical adjustments and financial maneuvering, possibly involving the departures of high-earners like Jović and Chukwueze.
