Kyle Walker’s move to AC Milan will be finalised on Thursday after Manchester City agreed to loan him out, leaving ex-mistress Lauryn Goodman furious.
Walker, 34, will join the Italian giants until the end of this season. Milan, who’ll pay the England international’s £175,000-a-week wages in full during the loan period, also have the option to sign him permanently in the summer transfer window.
Having demanded a two-year contract, Walker has already pre-agreed a deal which runs until 2027 if the Serie A side decide to trigger that clause. The soon-to-be former City captain rejected multiple other clubs in favour of joining Milan, including turning down lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia.
It’s been suggested that Walker is making the move to Italy in an effort to mend his relationship with wife Annie Kilner, who he has four children with. TV personality and model Goodman, however, has reportedly expressed her frustration with the defender’s decision, as Walker also fathers her two children – Kairo, aged four, and Kinara, who’s 18 months old.
A new report claims that Goodman thinks Walker is being ‘selfish’ and shirking his responsibilities as a father. “Lauryn can’t believe Kyle’s even considering moving to Italy,” a source told Italian outlet Nogomania. “She thinks he’s being selfish and should stay in the UK to fulfil his responsibilities as a father.”
Goodman recently posted on her Instagram story to allude to her feelings. The post, originally from the We Need to Talk podcast, featured comedian Katherine Ryan discussing the dangers of staying in toxic relationships.
“I think people stay in bad relationships because they’re afraid to lose an investment,” Ryan stated. “But that time is gone anyway. And what’s worse than wasting two years is wasting two years plus one day. I don’t think anyone should really date before 30.”
