News about Liverpool transfers: Jürgen Klopp star to depart, and the “dream” of a $76 million target revealed

Liverpool transfer news: A $76m target would supposedly see an Anfield switch as a 'dream' move while a Jürgen Klopp playmaker is set to depart on loan once again.

If Liverpool could sign a player in any position right now, it should be a left-sided center-back who can also cover at full-back. And yet, the transfer links continue to arrive without anyone fitting that description in sight.

Kylian Mbappé remains a big name in the news but a move to Real Madrid appears far more likely than a switch to Liverpool because of the economics involved. But until the Frenchman has confirmed his next destination, there will be chatter in the background about where he might end up.

Another attacker might be a priority in the summer but right now, Liverpool has other places in which to strengthen. In terms of where it should be looking, defense and midfield would surely come before its forward line.

There are still three weeks of the window remaining and no Premier League side has really made a strong move in the market yet, so things are still ticking along and not yet getting into top gear. Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today, with some more claims emerging around someone currently impressing in the top flight.

Michael Olise (Crystal Palace)

Liverpool is among the Premier League clubs interested in signing Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition via Paisley Gates). As well as the Reds, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all named as interested parties.

Olise’s release clause stands at around $76m (£60m/€70m) for the summer which would be attainable for all of those clubs. Speaking to GiveMeSport, Dean Jones has claimed that a move to Anfield would be a ‘dream’ for Olise where he could continue his development under Jürgen Klopp.

Fábio Carvalho (Liverpool)

Liverpool attacking midfielder Fábio Carvalho is set to join Hull City on loan for the remainder of the season, the Daily Mail reports. The Portugal playmaker failed to make an impact at RB Leipzig earlier in the campaign and was brought back to Anfield because of a lack of minutes.

Having been signed from Fulham with a big reputation, the 21-year-old just needs regular game time. Wolves, Sheffield United, Southampton and Leeds United were also keen but Hull appears to have made the most appealing pitch.
