Liverpool are in talks with Blackburn Rovers over sending their young defender Billy Koumetio to Ewood Park.
Koumetio has recently come back from a loan spell with Dunkerque and is now ready to out again to further his development.
Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the 21-year-old and previously labelled Koumetio as a ‘big talent’.
And now, according to the Daily Mail’s transfer tracker (18:24), Koumetio is now on his way to Blackburn after the failed to land Nat Phillips.
Liverpool have been quiet in this window but are always looking for ways to help the club in general and sending Koumetio on loan will be seen by everyone at the club as good business.
Another smart move by Liverpool
Liverpool are always open to letting their young players go out on loan and with little sign of Koumetio getting into the first-team, a loan spell in the Championship will do him the world of good.
There is no point in keeping young players around if big clubs at a decent level want to take them and Blackburn is a smart choice by the Reds for the youngster.
Under Jon Dahl Tomasson, Koumetio will get a decent education and get the chance to come up against some top Championship players in the process.
This move will only aide both the player and Liverpool, while helping Blackburn at the same time.
Koumetio will hope to impress and then come the summer, he’ll have more options in front of him.
