Claudio Ranieri, the head coach of Roma, spoke in an interview with “Il Messaggero” about the nature of his work with the club after the end of this season.
He said: “I will be the club’s primary advisor. I know that I will be a reference for the club, and I will advise on what is right and what is wrong, then the owners will decide. I believe this is the case for everyone.”
He added: “The fans should remain calm; I am not fleeing. But I also will not be a source of annoyance for anyone.”
He continued: “If I do not make a decision and do not feel my importance, I will not be a source of annoyance, and I will leave. I feel today that I am at the heart of the project. The moment I feel unsupported, goodbye and thank you.”
Regarding the negotiation with Dutchman Erik Ten Hag to be the new coach, he stated: “I don’t know him. I have never met him. I read that I had dinner with him. I have never seen him. Believe me, please.”
