Report: Arsenal make £67m bid for Real Madrid star Rodrygo

Arsenal have reportedly submitted a £67 million offer to Real Madrid for Brazilian winger Rodrygo Goes, according to Fichajes.

The North London club have been very active in the summer transfer window. They have already completed moves for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard, Cristhian Mosquera, Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyökeres and Eberechi Eze.

Despite strengthening several positions, Mikel Arteta reportedly wants more attacking options before the window closes. The pursuit of Rodrygo reflects this plan to boost depth in forward areas.

Their interest in the South American has gained urgency after Bukayo Saka suffered a suspected hamstring injury during the 5-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday.

The England international is set for further checks, but his availability remains uncertain.

Rodrygo’s role at Real Madrid has become uncertain. Manager Xabi Alonso appears to prefer Arda Güler and Brahim Díaz, while the signing of Franco Mastantuono has added extra competition for places.

As a result, Rodrygo’s minutes are expected to reduce this season.Arsenal are ready to take advantage of the situation with Fichajes claiming that the Gunners have now submitted a formal £67m offer.

Real Madrid value the forward at around £86 million, meaning Arsenal’s bid is below their asking price. Talks are yet to progress, but the Gunners remain keen to strike a deal.

The Brazilian scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions last season, despite Real Madrid’s inconsistent campaign.

With the FIFA World Cup coming next year, Rodrygo may seek a move for more regular playing time if his minutes keep falling.

Pep Guardiola’s side have shown interest in the 23-year-old, but nothing concrete has happened so far.

Manchester City would move for the Madrid star if Savinho departs, with Tottenham showing strong interest in the Brazilian winger.

A bidding war could still develop if both clubs push forward with offers.

Arsenal have started the Premier League season strongly with two wins from two, beating Manchester United and Leeds in convincing fashion.

Their next challenge is a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on 13 August, where they aim to maintain their perfect start.
