Report: Milan see first Guerra bid rejected – Valencia’s stance and the 30% clause… see more

It was reported by Sky, Gianluca Di Marzio and MilanNews last night that Milan had put in their first official bid to sign the 22-year-old Guerra. It was believed to be €16m as a fixed fee, and €4m in potential bonuses.

According to what is being reported by Cadena COPE (via MilanNews), Milan have taken the first official steps for Guerra ‘but immediately hit a wall’. The first offer presented by the Rossoneri – €20m, including bonuses – was rejected by the management of the Spanish club.

Ron Gourlay, the CEO of Valencia, turned down the bid considering it insufficient. Therefore, if Milan want to sign the Spain U21 international they will have to raise the proposal.

According to Marca (via MilanNews), Milan ‘did not meet Valencia’s demands for Javi Guerra with an offer of 20 million euros including bonuses’ and there is a clause which is in play.

If Valencia were to conclude the transfer of Javi Guerra for €25m, to use last summer’s figure, Villarreal would receive €7.5m and their neighbours €17.5m, a figure considered insufficient.

Considering that 30% of the proceeds will go to Villarreal, more is needed. Last year, Atlético Madrid reached an agreement for €25m fixed, although in the end they backed out with the arrival of Gallagher.

At this point, Valencia know that Javi Guerra is one of the most interesting players in their team and that the right time to secure a good fee for the player could be this summer.
