CBS Sports’ new Christian Pulisic docuseries has been branded “confused” for trying to “prematurely coronate” the USMNT and AC Milan star.
The new CBS series is now streaming and offers fans a glimpse into Pulisic’s career journey as he has become the face of U.S. Soccer. The series has been described as a “worthy watch for USMNT and Serie A fans” but potential viewers have also been warned that the first episode comes across as a “confused attempt to prematurely coronate America’s current biggest soccer star” and seems like “Serie A propaganda” in a review by Hudson River Blue. It’s also claimed “The Last Dance this is not” in reference to ESPN’s widely acclaimed Michael Jordan documentary.
The docuseries is billed as a nine-partner, meaning there’s plenty more content for fans to get stuck into, and a chance to get to know the “introverted” soccer star better. Pulisic, who is currently playing a starring role in Italy with AC Milan, has spoken out about the documentary and revealed that one of the reasons for making the series was to “inspire that next generation of soccer players” – particularly ahead of World Cup 2026, which will be held in North America, Canada and Mexico.
Pulisic is one of just 13 players in Europe’s top five leagues with at least 25 goals and 15 assists in all competitions since the start of the 2023-24 season.
Pulisic has just lifted his first trophy with Milan after beating Inter in the Italian Super Cup and has promised to “celebrate properly.” The Rossoneri are due return to Serie A action on Saturday against Cagliari.
