Massimiliano Allegri is a name that has long been linked to AC Milan, and this summer, the return may actually happen.

There have been constant links to Allegri since rumours of Stefano Pioli departing almost two years ago. However, it seems that he has never been closer to the Milan post than he currently is now, even if there is no sporting director in place.

Reports this morning suggest that Igli Tare, once again, is the favourite to be named the new director, and included in his list of candidates that he would bring to the club was Allegri, who may be the man to rebalance the Rossoneri in the short-term.

Nevertheless, the Diavolo are not the only club considering a move for the former Juventus head coach, and there have been plenty of links to other Italian clubs, and yesterday, Claudio Ranieri offered a hint about Allegri’s future, as relayed by soccerhuz.com.

“Will we see Allegri here in Rome next year? I think so. I don’t know if he’ll be wearing the Roma shirt, damn you! Of course, he’ll find a team in Italy.”
