Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, a feat he achieved across stops with three different teams. While his years with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat often get more shine than his Lakers run, James has quietly been ascending up many historic franchise lists.
In his seventh season with the Lakers, James entered Thursday’s contest against the Golden State Warriors with averages of 26.6 points, 8.0 rebounds and 8.1 assists for his LA career. Winning a championship and Finals MVP award in 2020, James quickly cemented himself as an iconic Lakers figure, and has only built on that in the years since.
With over 42,000 career points, James scored 23,119 during his time in Cleveland and 7,919 with Miami. During Thursday’s game, the the star forward reached a historic franchise milestone.
With his 11,000th career point in a Lakers uniform, James became just the 10th player in franchise history to reach that milestone (h/t StatMuse).
This is just one of many milestones James has reached in a Lakers uniform. Breaking the league’s all-time scoring record in Los Angeles, James further solidified his place as one of the franchise’s all-time greats.
James is in pursuit of a fifth NBA championship and second in Los Angeles. The Lakers entered play on Thursday as the third seed in the Western Conference standings, with just two games separating them and Golden State. Each game carries extremely high stakes at this point in the season, especially head-to-head matchups between division rivals.
